Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho both worked together during their time at Stamford Bridge and the English midfielder praised Mourinho for what the manager has done.
Jose Mourinho is a very controversial figure in the world of football as the Portuguese tactician is an outspoken manager who is not afraid on voicing his mind. During the managerial career of Mourinho, he has been fined for €200,000, has been given touchline bans and a number of other things.
Poking the eyes of the former Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova and criticizing referees are some of the other things that Jose Mourinho has done which has not been received positively by football figures but despite all of these incidents, Frank Lampard considers the Portuguese manager to be brilliant.
The 36 year old English midfielder Frank Lampard praised Jose Mourinho as he said: “He is brilliant. If you wanted to bottle a manager and get all the good bits in it, he has got them. I say that because he helped me in my career a huge amount. When he came I didn’t have that self-confidence, I was 25, and he brought that out of me. And he does that with all the players he works with. He is very good at gauging a player and he knows if you need a b******ing he will give it to you individually or as a team on a day but if you need a little bit of love and niceness he does that as well.”
Lampard says that his career did not truly kickoff until Jose Mourinho took charge of Chelsea which occurred when he signed for the Premier League club in June of 2004 and he became one of the highest paid managers as he was receiving a salary of £4.2 million a year but the Portuguese manager proved his worth as he won the Premier League twice in 3 seasons during his first managerial stay with Chelsea which began in 2004
