Ex-Liverpool and Leicester City striker Emile Heskey has questioned the transfer links that continue to mention Arsenal as a possible transfer destination for AS Roma loanee Steven Nzonzi. Frenchman Steven Nzonzi is entering the twilight of his career at the age of 32 and he has been linked with a return to the Premier League with clubs like Arsenal and Everton. The AS Roma loanee played in the Premier League for clubs like Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City before he left the latter to join Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla.
Steven Nzonziis on loan at Rennes from AS Roma for the entire duration of this season. He was also farmed out on loan to Turkish top flight giants Galatasaray last season. Steven Nzonzi is seen as the poster boy of the failedsporting director era of Monchi at AS Roma.
Arsenal are not new to Steven Nzonzi having been linked with the midfielder for several years but Emile Heskey is certain that the time for an Arsenal transfer has passed for the player as it would block the path of the young Arsenal midfielders coming through the Academy. Steven Nzonzi is expected to leave AS Roma in the summer when he returns to Italy from his loan spell at French top flight team Rennes.
Steven Nzonzi is a World Cup winner after he played his part in the title triumph for the French team at the last edition in Russia but he’s far away from the team ahead of the next edition, World Cup 2022 in Qatar. France are the defending champions but they will have to play the qualifiers to book their place at World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Ahead of World Cup 2022 in Qatar, France national team manager Didier Deschamps has turned to younger midfielders like Eduardo Camavinga and Adrien Rabiot though he still has every chance of making the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar.
